Title:Such Brutal PRIDE-Dedicated to Boy George O'Dowd-Oct. 6, 2014 |
'I slept with Prince': Boy George's claim during filming of The Voice shocks audience so much filming has to stop.
He's only been on the show for a couple of months, but he's already courting controversy.
The Voice coach Boy George, 54, brought the show's production to a halt recently when he said he'd slept with singer Prince, 57.
The newcomer made the shocking claim during the show's live audition stage in front of a studio audience.
A source told The Sun that it 'sent the audience absolutely wild and forced producers to stop filming.'
Sitting on
the judging panel alongside Will.i.am, Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky
Wilson and singer Paloma Faith, the foursome boasted about who they'd
collaborated with.
London-born
singer/songwriter Boy George enthused: 'I have duetted with some of the
greatest soul singers in history including Luther Vandross and Smokey
Robinson.'
Paloma hit back: 'Well OK, if we’re throwing big soul names out there I’ve performed with Prince.'
To which George reportedly replied: 'Forget that, darling, I’ve slept with Prince.'
A production source told the newspaper that the crew couldn't believe what they had heard and the crowd went 'absolutely wild.'
They added that the other judges, especially Will.i.am, thought it was brilliant and kept on high-fiving him.
The source said: 'Production staff had to come up on stage and speak to them.
'After
that, Boy George started backtracking saying he hadn’t really slept
with Prince and that in reality, he just had his poster on his wall.
