Popstar Ariana Grande has vented her frustrations at homophobia, calling it “dumb as fuck.”
Ariana sat down with V Magazine joined by Ryan Murphy, the creator of new show Scream Queens.
She told the magazine: “I was raised in a household where being gay was the most normal.
“When my brother came out of the closet, it wasn’t a big
deal for my family. Even my grandpa, who is like, super old school, was
like, ‘Good for you!’
“It’s outrageous to me when I see people hate on someone
because of their sexuality. I hate the intolerance. I hate the
judgement. I hate it so much.
“It’s something I’m super passionate about, because
whenever I would see my friends get bullied, or my brother get hurt for
his sexuality, I would literally become a raging lunatic because I just
can’t take it.”
Ariana has been known to defend her brother in the past on
social media sites when he was a contestant on Big Brother. She replied
to one person who made a homophobic comment: “That ‘homo’ is the
fiercest, most incredible, funniest, most intelligent, kind hearted and
most LOVED person on the face of the planet! oh and also…. ‘that homo’
gets more ass than you’ll ever get in your life.”
She didn’t stop there in the V interview, this is Ariana we’re talking about here!
She went on to say: “When you see someone hurting, for
such a superficial bullshit reason, it’s like, how small and spiritually
unenlightened and dumb as fuck can a person be?
“How much further can your head get up your ass that
you’re actually judging someone as a person based on their sexuality
before you even have a conversation with them?”
