R.I.P-Marc Berkley

Marc came into my LIFE and literally turned it up-side-down within a matter of weeks. He spotted me at Limelight one day designing, painting, making posters for a fashion show on the main stage, downstairs near the entrance of the club. He asked me did I know how to dance and I never once told him at that time, I was currently on MTV. He said, I had a look and skinny arms but if I could dance on a box (In the middle of a large room wearing nothing but a G-Strip, Surrounded by a sea of gorgeous people, Wearing shoes, boots or whatever for 30-45 minutes non-stop)...I would be hired and I started working at Limelight that very same night in 1993.

We had a very, very close relationship and a mutual respect for each other (At any given moment when our paths would cross-outside in the "REAL WORLD" beyond the facade of Limelight. I worked with him during the daytime at the Limelight office and other clubs he had established his (Fag Tag) Queens brigade to attend.

I was the one working all-day in the office making phone calls to guys on the list, Confirming or adjusting their attendance. I held the large amount of drink tickets, I was also the one out during the week at various other establishments...Handing out flyers and little party gifts to get the audience pumped-up for the WEEKEND!!!

Other responsibilities I had when working for Marc was, I was appointed the dark room monitor-Me in a closed-off room with half naked men engaged in anything and everything pertaining to sex. I was paid an extra bundle of money added to my go-go boy fee.

Marc said all I had to do was walk around in that pitch black room with a flashlight and make sure things stayed copacetic with our horny patrons. One of the best perks was when I was assigned to do the guestlist, This required me being outside with a HUGE couple of massive bodybuilders (Security always watched our backs)...

Giving me the all-mighty power to elect & select the evenings smorgasbord of beautiful, sexy, colorful people. Marc hired me in 1993 and I stopped working at Limelight in 1996, I will cherish this period in my life forever as the years of unadulterated debauchery. 

I think about you often Marc Berkley and all the many, many things you taught me, Beyond grateful and eternally humbled by the precious gift our friendship was.

You are missed, Dearly...
