I have to carve this date into My long-term memory....WOW!!!!
My Mother and I parted ways around 1990-1992, Not quit sure what year she decided to move to the bowels of Virginia and I decided to stay in New York City but instinctively, I knew if I wanted My visions to come true...It would more than likely have a better chance to materialize in "The Big Apple" and not the racist-feed atmosphere of Virginia.
My Mother and I both moved to NYC in 1985 from Miami, Florida...
Subway Tokens commodity value was 25 cents to get around the island of Manhattan (All of NYC) Time and the subway fare changed drastically, I recall her being frustrated with the snow and needing a change of scenery but leave NYC, I could NEVER!!!! Back then when I had such BIG DREAMS!!!
Fast-Forward (Today) My Mother is in Virginia in the process of going through her retirement from working @ The VA Hospital for mostly all My life and My Grandmother was also employed there as well up until the time of her passing. The VA Hospital has served My family well...Just wish they had the common decency to give My Mother some dignity for all the years of service she put in at the VA Hospital in Miami, The Bronx and the "WORST" one ever in Hampton-Virginia...Treating her with such destine and lack of respect.
I'm a STRONG BELIEVER in Karma, "What goes around comes around"-Do Unto others as You Wish them to do unto You....
In a brief phone conversation today My Mother said, "She informed the departing staff at her current VA location she is clearing out of there fast with NO fanfare cause all the employees and patience are fake and insincere people and she is looking forward to her retirement"...
She also mentioned, "She was quit PROUD! of Me for sticking to My convictions living in NYC all these years and she acknowledged all the things I had accomplished and went on to say...She was Happy I stayed and did not get hooked on drugs or waste my life away-PROUD! I had pursued My dreams and I'm still reaching to achieve them (Everyday)...She called Me, BRAVE!
Inside Myself I was screaming and beaming with humongous PRIDE!!!
Couldn't achieve anything without My Family's Blessings & The Man above.
I'm Truly Honored, TY!!!!!!!!

After My mother officially left the hospital unit, A week had passed and she saw on the news where her former department had to evacuate because of an internal fire...I believe she said, Everyone was OK but the sheer coincidence of it all is quit baffling!!!
